Harbor Seal

Habitat

Harbor Seals are located in Alaska, New England Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and West Coast.

Lifespan

At birth harbor seals weigh about 24 pounds and when they are adults they weigh 180-285 pounds and can get up to 5-6 feet in length. A harbor seal's life span ranges from 25-30 years. Some threats that are limiting the harbor seal population include, entanglement in fishing gear, illegal feeding and harassment, habitat destruction/loss, chemical spill, and oil spills.
